However, I found that I was using some books to just escape reality. This did not help as much as it did me some harm, I think. So, for now, I've not been reading fiction. In all seriousness, this has been an issue I've really been trying to come to terms with lately, especially in regards to eliminating some sin patterns in my life. I claim Christ, so why can't I act like it? I know that even the apostle Paul said something along the lines of "I do what I don't want to do, and I don't do what I want to do--what a wretched man I am!" However, just because I was formerly in darkness doesn't give me free license to drop back into said darkness any time I want. Hey, hey, stop looking at me like that!
